Continuing on types of window shades...

Energy Efficient Insulated Cellular Shades are compiled from a sturdy polyester fabric and are designed to protect your home from air leaks and drafts. With these type of shades, nearly 100% of the UV rays are blocked because they transform the glare of the sun into a mild light. Another advantage is that the polyester fabric resists dust and is very easy to clean.

These shades are offered in a variety of styles, including the looping cord lift system, the safer cordless system, the top down/bottom up type, and the more energy saving sidetrack system . The side track system attaches to the inside molding of the window so that it forms a barrier between the frame and the fabric. The tracks are made of
a strong high-tech plastic and when installed it prevents the outside air from entering the building. This, of course, is a benefit during the hot summer and cold winter months.

The shades are also offered in energy efficient light filtering styles or the type that darken the room and even totally block the outside light block-out shades. They may be either single or double cell styles.

Cordless shades are a safe alternative to the more traditional shades because there is no cord involved. Without an attached cord, the shades have a more attractive and tidy
appearance. There are no loose cords which may cause injuries to children or household pets. Therefore, the cordless shades combine safety and beauty.

To operate your blinds, grasp the acrylic handle at the bottom rail and gently push or pull on the bottom rail to raise or lower the blinds. This action allows for a smooth operating procedure. It also allows you to keep the blinds clean and spot-free because you do not need to touch the blinds or a cord, and the acrylic handle is easy to clean. If you should raise your blinds from the edge, rather than from the center, there is a self-correcting mechanism which allows the blinds to be evenly raised. Thus, the blinds remain level whether they are completely raised or lowered or somewhere in between. The only drawback to these blinds is if your windows are too high, it may not be possible to raise or lower your blinds in this manner. In such a situation, blinds with cords may need to be installed.
