Types of window shades
available
You will find a large variety of shades in
numerous colors and styles to
meet your needs and desires. Many of the more modern shades are created
with
energy efficiency in mind. Those same shades are offered in many styles,
colors and prices to suit your taste and budget.
There are shades which filter the sunlight which are used commercially
and
in homes. They are available in many different colors, styles and
finishes.
They are offered in plain styles or more colorful and decorative styles
with
such features as scallops or trims. The hues and colors offered range
from a
light opaque to blackout shades.
Many people who work the nightshift and sleep much of the day prefer
blackout shades so that the light is filtered out which enables them to
sleep more comfortably during the day. These types of shades are often
found
in hotels and motels so that they can accommodate their guests who may
want
to catch a nap during the day. Even though these room darkening shades
are
very functional, they can be very soft and attractive for both homes and
businesses. They also offer the utmost in privacy, and function well in
humid climates.
You may choose the more traditional spring control shade or the clutch
(chain) control shade. Motorized versions are also available in many
shades.
The benefits of solar shades is that the natural light is able to enter
your
room, while the heat and glare are being filtered from your room. One
particular type of shade, the Sunveil solar shade, combines 36%
Glassyarn
and 64% PVC and satin weave. This means that the screen is comprised of
a
thin woven screen type fabric. This allows for better vision through the
screen than some types of solar shades. It also blocks 95% of the UV
rays.
Standard roller shades will not provide you with a reduction in the
glare of
the sun, whereas with solar shades you are provided with this
protection.
This protection is also beneficial to your furnishings because it
protects
them from the damaging effects of the sun, but you still receive the
benefits of viewing the outdoors.
